Unbroken

Sometimes it takes me a while to get to the really good books (like 7 years), and this just blew me away. I know many of you have read “Unbroken”, but if you haven’t, it truly is a must-read. Lauren Hillenbrand tells the unbelievable life story of Louis Zamperini, from his boyhood to Olympic runner to beyond-all-odds survivor of a horrific fighter jet crash in the Pacific, followed by horrific years in captivity as a POW. The genius of this author is her ability to make the reader feel that they are an eye witness during every moment of Louis Zamperini’s incredible life. The title is apt because Louis’ resilience, grit, will to live and will to win made him unbreakable.
