“A Real Pain”

Really, really good! Jesse Eisenberg wrote, directed and stars in this film alongside Kieran Culkin.  They are cousins who have a deep connection but have grown apart in their adult lives.  We witness their emotional trip to Poland where they join a small group on a Holocaust tour.  Their grandmother, a holocaust survivor and recently deceased, bequeathed this trip to the cousins that concludes with a silent, but emotional walk around the Majdanek concentration camp. There are no dramatic arcs in this film - just an evolution of character development and relationships that will have you brimming with questions long after the credits roll. I predict Oscar nods for this very cerebral and well acted film - Kieran Culkin was particularly phenomenal.
