New Orleans

Hurricanes be damned.  Covid be damned.  This city is alive and well and very ready to host you to a wonderful weekend.  We just returned from Family Weekend at TU as noted above and I devote this space to Travel Recs in NOLA.  The Hotel Fontenot (Kimpton Hotel) is new and well located nearby, but not too close to the French Quarter.  The restaurant scene is phenomenal in NOLA, but Pêche is always a standout and The Ruby Slipper Cafe is very solid for brunch with many locations.  I loved St. James Cheese Company for lunch- very fresh and tasty.  A walk or run along the (Mississippi) Riverwalk is delightful and includes a stunning sculpture by Agam in memory of the victims of the Holocasust.  New Orleanians are proud, friendly and resilient with a rich Cajun and Creole culture.  And any place that calls their wine education school WINO (Wine Institute of New Olreans) is nothing but FUN!
