Conversation (from the) Hearts

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, this week’s Bookmark This is using love and relationships as inspiration. Despite it being a Hallmark holiday, I believe it serves a deeper and much needed purpose: it reminds us to let those we love (romantically, parentally or otherwise) know we are thinking about them by making some gesture of kindness. That gesture is just as fulfilling for the giver (maybe more so) as it is for the recipient. Remember making your homemade Valentine’s Day cards (I used red and pink construction paper and doilies) and handing them out to your classmates? Joy defined the day because you felt taken care of while also taking care of others. Is it possible to find that inner child this Valentine’s Day and put sincere thought and feeling into creating a special moment for someone you love? “Be Mine” - “Love You” - “Kiss Me”: February 14th is the perfect day to have those conversations from the heart.
