Tag. We’re It.
Well, it took awhile, but Covid-19 finally hit our household and our kids weren’t even home to blame. Simply following protocol, the husband and I innocently took Covid tests prior to a trip we had planned months ago. Lo and behold, he tested positive, I tested negative, and into quarantine we went. Socially distancing within our household, this past week has been one of our strangest; how apt that Groundhog’s Day was celebrated during a week where everyday felt like it: Breakfast. Lunch. Netflix. Dinner. Netflix. Repeat. Fortunately, Mitch only had mild symptoms similar to a cold and slept a lot. I vacillated between “I think the twitch in my left eye and the fact that I want to go to bed at 8 pm means I got it” to “I feel perfectly fine. Let me out of this prison!” Well, I got that “Get Out of Jail” card this morning with a second negative test and I feel born again, invincible and have never been happier to go to the grocery store. This experience of together/apart has added a new dimension to our old married lives but I gotta be honest when I say, I hope it never happens again.
