“The Donut King”
Talk about a documentary that plays out like a drama! Cambodian refugees Ted Ngoy and family flee the Khmer Rouge in the 70’s and head to Los Angeles to start a new life. Luck and hard work result in him opening a lot of donut shops and ultimately becoming a muti-millionaire. Along the way, he helps many Cambodian refugees obtain visas and open their own shops as well. Even Dunkin’ Donuts couldn't compete with “the donut king”. But alas, Ted developed other passions that did not help his relationships nor his businesses thrive. Be warned, after watching this very entertaining doc, you’re going to run, not walk, to your favorite donut shop!
