Holiday Cards
I love this time of year because my mailbox contains lots of envelopes that don’t look like bills or junk mail. My heart beats a bit faster with anticipation as I open each card, eager to see and learn how my friends’ families (and dogs) have changed in the past year. There is comfort in the ritual of both sending out the holiday greeting and in receiving it year after year. Granted that at our age, the “kids” in the photos are generally fully grown (but not necessarily independent). It begs the question: When does one stop sending out the family holiday card? I don’t know the answer, but I still appreciate and applaud being part of this yearly pictorial connection with our friends. For the Roberts Family Holiday Update 2021, see below.
