Jack & Jill’s Shrimp

I dubbed this recipe “Jack and Jill’s Shrimp” ever since my son’s friend, Jack, fell in love with this dish I made 10 years ago.  A simple marinade:  3 cloves garlic, ⅓ cup olive oil, ¼ cup tomato sauce, 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar, 2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil, ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon cayenne (or less if you don’t want really spicy), 2 lbs. shrimp peeled and deveined. Mix all ingredients except shrimp in a large bowl.  Then add shrimp, cover and refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes.  Skewer and grill for 2-3 minutes a side.
