Eat. Pray. Love.
Those 3 words represent what I’ve been doing the past 2 weeks. This year, Labor Day was not only the annual marker between summer and “back to reality”, but also the beginning of the Jewish New Year - Rosh Hashanah - which began the evening of September 6. Eat. Five holiday meals shared with family and friends over the 10 day period of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Chicken noodle soup, brisket, challah, bagels and so much more. Pray. Go to synagogue several times to observe the sacred holiday period with fellow congregants: reading of the torah, ritual blessings, sermons that inspire, being part of a community (again). And in between these holidays, there was Love. And that was the wedding of our dear friends Adrienne and Rick who became husband and wife in Marblehead, MA on September 11. I mean true love where two people, who are beyond great individually, are even greater than the sum of their parts together. Plus their weekend-long celebration may be the last time we are both the kids and the adults at the wedding! Mazel Tov to the newlyweds!
