Love Hurts

Recently I was reminded of the complexities of a break-up (rest assured, not my own).  A romantic relationship typically starts with fireworks but ends with two broken hearts, endless tears and emotional pain that is beyond words.  It has been quite awhile since I personally experienced lost love, but I’ll never forget the messiness of break ups and how badly it hurts even when you know it’s the right thing to do.  The chemistry, the commonalities and/or the communication that made you a great couple can decay and eventually sabotage the relationship.  It takes strength to walk away from someone who made you feel so good (because it’s so easy to remember the good times), and to decide that breaking up will ultimately be best for you.  They say “parting is such sweet sorrow”.  It’s not.  They say “love hurts”.  It does.  But there is no greater truth than “time heals all wounds”.  And one thing I know for sure is that it is possible to experience true, and even better love again.
