Noting and Letting Go

My Headspace meditation series of late - Mindful Eating - has given me food for thought so to speak. During the meditation and even throughout the day, the practice encourages us to note our thought interruptions and to actually label them as follows: Thought or Feeling? And is there Attachment or Aversion? The idea is to start to separate yourself from these recurring (“sticky”) thoughts and feelings and allow them to be noted and let go. To quote the founder of Headspace, Andy Puddicombe: “Noting our thoughts allows us to see the distraction. Focussing our attention gives us the tools to let it go.”
