“Noah Needs a Sitter”

Do you have someone in your life who feels like family but isn’t?  Someone you love and care for like your own flesh and blood?  We are so fortunate to have a wonderful woman named Teresa Scenna in our lives who is like a mother to me and a grandmother to our children.  Twenty-six years ago, I placed an advertisement in our local paper (The Tab) looking for a part-time sitter for my one and only child (back then) so I could go back to work. “TT” entered our lives and has been an integral part of our family ever since.  Hailing from Abbruzzo, Italy, TT is now a young, sprightly 85 year old great-grandmother who makes us her home-made manicotti, bolognese sauce, biscotti, and chocolate cake regularly.  She literally nourishes her relationships with kindness, her soul with prayer and her body with lots of outdoor walks.  TT, you are my inspiration for living a purposeful, loving and connected life and I thank you for picking up that phone 26 years ago to answer my ad.
