Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt (Olympic record holder for 100 meter sprint) inspired me this week as I watched his documentary “I Am Bolt”. One doesn’t really need to have the best to be the best. While Usain had a support team of coaches, trainers and teammates that were top notch and loyal, he did not have a workout facility nor training equipment that seemed anything beyond mediocre in Jamaica. His innate talent, his “Yoda” like coach and his work ethic far outweighed access to state of the art training facilities and fancy fitness accoutrements (think TB12 brand). Maybe you won’t run 100 meters in 9.58 seconds, but you can get stronger with good old-fashioned situps and pushups if you do them consistently, be it on your bedroom floor or at the fanciest of gyms. On Netflix.
