“Will and Harper”

I love watching Will Ferrell do his silly, sophomoric comedy roles from SNL to Elf to Anchor Man.  So this documentary featuring Will and his dear friend, Harper Steele, was quite eye-opening.  The two who have been friends for 30 years go on a cross-country road trip to process a major change in their relationship.  Harper (formerly Andrew Steele) has come out as a trans woman.  The difficult conversations between the friends, public exposure for Harper as a woman, and for Will as a celebrity with a trans woman go deep and reveal vulnerabilities for both.  But given that the two are both comedy writers, there are laughs and lightness as well.  Watch this sweet film, rest assured that Rotten Tomatoes gave it 99%.
