Pierre Thiam
Thiam is a renowned chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur emigree from Senegal who shares his fascinating life journey with Guy Raz on “How I Built This Lab!”. He came to the U.S. to study physics and chemistry, but ended up working in restaurants and LOVED it. Working his way up the ladder, Thiam became head chef, then opened his own restaurants and ultimately founded a food movement to make fonio - a nutrient dense grain - available to the world under the Yolélé brand (while economically empowering West Africans). His voice and manner are just lovely.
