“Being Henry”

I randomly picked up this book from Mitch’s bookshelf desperate for something, anything to read. Well wasn’t I surprised that after a few chapters, I couldn’t put this memoir down.  Henry Winkler’s charming, honest and absolutely intriguing story isn’t the most beautiful prose, but it has great authenticity.  What I love about Being Henry is that it tells us as much about Winkler, the rather insecure man who has always struggled with dyslexia, as it does about Winkler the actor.  Of course we all knew him as “The Fonz” - the coolest guy on TV in the 70’s and 80’s - but the depth of Henry’s struggles, talents and strength of character are even more impressive than that larger than life character he created.  This book offers beautiful pearls of wisdom and commentary about life, family, children and loyalty to friends so please, bookmark this!  And for more Henry, listen to him on Smartless!
