Charismatic Leaders

The crowd couldn’t take their eyes off of him. Loud, passionate, obnoxious and willing to take risks, this young man simply dazzled the throngs. Even when his daring antics finally resulted in his “arrest”, the leader’s faithful following chanted: “BRING HIM BACK! BRING HIM BACK!” I, too, was enamored by this powerful being and could not believe I was at a Bruins game watching this very drunk fan mesmerize his following in Loge Section 9. He led chants, he banged on the plexiglass, he sang when no one else was singing, he spilled beer on the innocent but he had that certain je ne sais quoi akin to other charismatic leaders like....Trump. When security did escort him out of the arena with just minutes to go in period 3, a loss was felt. Our leader was a powerful force that united a group of strangers for the greater good -- to assure a Bruins win over the Vancouver Canucks. And while his and our shared goal (pardon the pun) was achieved 4-2, his absence left us all a little empty - like the net that saw the 4th goal.
