On Purpose - Jay Shetty

I found this podcast extremely timely as I try to adopt new approaches and behaviors in the new year. Mel Robbins, author of the book “The Let Them Theory”, is the featured guest and she helps us understand that we waste way too much time on trying to change/control others.  “Let Them” becomes the mantra for allowing us to receive and observe others’ actions without being judgemental (you’re in control).  You choose how you respond to the annoying boss, the loved one who drinks too much, the friend who lets you down.  Stop and consider what might be going on with them - give them grace - and don’t waste all that negative energy on fretting. The other mantra, “Let Me”, urges us to either take action (talk to the person who hurt you, extend the invitation for dinner) or not.  Ultimately, you get to decide, you have the power to make the most of your relationships.
