Park City Part Deux
Mitch and I were in Park City one year ago when the world began to shut down. We skied Deer Valley, it closed the next day. We skied SnowBasin, it closed the next day. We went out for dinner on busy Main St. our first night, and then it was a ghost town the next. We truncated our trip and returned home to quarantine. Twelve months later, we booked the same hotel and experienced a joy-filled five days of skiing, chilling in the hot tub and dining in bustling Park City. The bonus was that our good friends Marci and Michael, who live in PC part-time, were our ski guides, chauffeurs and concierges making our trip not just good but great! It turns out that skiing is very conducive to pandemic rules as masks, fresh air and separate chair lifts for each party have always been a part of the sport. It is rare that the sequel is better than the original experience, but our Park City redux was proof that our world is healing and our quality of life will return to normal soon!
