Clutch Basket - March Madness
I am not an NCAA basketball fan in any way, shape or form. But I happened to catch the last few seconds of the UCLA-Gonzaga Final Four game (semi-final). Keep in mind, the tournament is 18 days long and begins with 68 teams and I’ve paid zero attention to the whole affair. But as I settled into bed that night, the game was on TV because Mitch was into it. To my utter delight, I ended up witnessing one of the most spectacular sports dramas I have ever seen: The game is in overtime, and UCLA ties the game with 3 seconds left. Just when it seems there will be another OT, Suggs on Gonzaga takes possession and shoots the ball, Hail Mary style (I know, that’s football…), from half-court with less than a second on the clock. Miraculously, it goes in and Gonzaga wins the game, enters the finals and continues their 35 game winning streak. Sports fan or not, I think everyone can appreciate that you’ll never succeed if you don’t give it a shot.
