#1 or #2?
Decisions, decisions. Whether picking out a new toilet (see pic) or taking an eye exam, we constantly need to choose and commit and for me, that comes with a bit of stress every single time. What happens if I make the wrong choice? Will my eyeglass Rx be all wrong? Is the Duravit really more attractive than the Kohler? Ultimately, we don’t want to have regrets - regrets about what we chose or what we left on the table. But the good news is that with age comes perspective and as I near 60 years old, I realize that there are lots and lots of good, safe choices. Also, memory loss, so I won’t even remember what I left on the table. But kidding aside, I’ve learned 2 things about making decisions: 1) Do not overthink your “answer”, but simply trust your first instinct and 2) Don’t always play it safe - get out of your comfort zone every now and then and take the risk. Make your “Regret” column minimal and your “Hell, I Did That!” column nice and long.
