Trip of a Lifetime
2024 is a big year for Mitch and me. We both turned 60 and November 11 was our 35th wedding anniversary. What did the 25 year old me ponder 35 years ago as she got her hair and makeup done and prepared for photos, ceremony, reception and life as Jill Roberts? Honestly, not anything real deep. Being married meant I could have kids someday, I had a new name and I had a gold band. Life didn’t really change with Mitch until those kids actually exited me and entered our lives. Raising them together has been the real trip of a lifetime. Coincidentally, we took a literal trip of a lifetime to mark our milestones with another couple (in Applauding below). As a woman of 60, married for over half my life, I love the perspective and fearlessness that all of my life “excursions” have given me. May the journey continue for a long time.
