“Remarkably, Bright Creatures”

Did I ever think I would love a book that features a very sensitive and articulate octopus as a main character?  Not really, but I was smitten by the elderly, sage giant Pacific octopus who develops a beautiful friendship with a widow - Tova Sullivan -  who cleans the aquarium each night.  There's a sadness to several of the characters in the book who have experienced loss of loved ones, but Shelby Van Pelt cleverly weaves the disparate stories together and the tension heightens with each chapter.  It’s a sweet book that is thematically quite unusual.
