Women’s Foundation of Boston

While Boston is a leader in the worlds of academia, biomedical companies and sports teams, it lags way behind other major cities in granting funds to non-profits who specifically support women and girls in need. Enter my Sloan classmate, Christina Gordon, who co-founded the Women’s Foundation of Boston in 2017. In four short years, WFBoston has raised more than $5 million and impacted over 8,700 women and girls. Their mission is to provide economic empowerment to women so they can lead independent and stable lives now and in the future. I am one of over 100 volunteers at WFBoston (they are essentially an all-volunteer organization so almost no-overhead) who is passionate about the WFBoston mission.
