Moms

May 9 is Mother’s Day so I want to recognize and clap my hands for moms everywhere. They deliver us into this world, help us navigate it and are (almost always) in our corner cheering us on. I have many friends whose moms are thankfully still alive -- some are thriving, others declining -- and the love, loyalty and responsibility they feel toward them is truly beyond words. My own mother, Zena, passed away nearly 3 years ago but I am reminded of her all the time as she lives within me: I share her love of dance, sun-bathing and cross-word puzzles just to name a few Zena traits. So to all you hard-working, multi-tasking, care-giving mothers and grand-mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day!
