Anthony Ramos

Anthony Ramos stars in the film “In the Heights” noted in Watching above. He is in the current season of the HBO series, “In Treatment'', and Ramos is an original cast member of “Hamilton” where he played the dual role of John Lawrence and Hamilton’s son, Philip. Anthony Ramos is a talented performer who rose to the top thanks to sheer talent and to educators who believed in him and gave him opportunities. Terry Gross of “Fresh Air” on NPR does a nice job interviewing this artist who has quite a story to tell. Anthony didn’t have it easy as a kid, and talks about both the trauma he experienced, but also the richness of growing up in diverse, poor, often violent Washington Heights. Games and imagination entertained the kids rather than smartphones and social media. Anthony is newly famous and thus he is still awed by where he came from and where he is now - including in Calvin Klein underwear ads!
