Ava DuVernay

She is the director of “13th”, “Selma” and “When They See Us”, but well before that career, Ava founded her own publicity agency. Ava’s narration of the twists and turns that her life followed is endearing and inspirational -- she is the navigator, but also along for the ride as both hard-work and lucky breaks move her closer to realizing her dreams. I didn’t even know who she was before listening to this podcast, but now I will never forget her.
