“Triade”

I am proud to share with you my good friend’s provocative, original and simply beautiful ballet entitled “Triade”. Paulo Arrais is a principal dancer with Boston Ballet, but also a talented choreographer. “Triade” was inspired by a book Paulo read about the complex and intimate relationships between Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. In an interview, Paulo noted that “while reading it three things jumped to the forefront of my creativity: women strength, polyamory and mental health”. He elegantly captures the individuals and their relationships with the gorgeous chamber music played by Boston Ballet musicians. The video dance highlights are at minutes 2:40, 18:38 (the centerpiece of Triade) and 23:00.
