Great Circle

I’ve been reading non-fiction like mad, so it’s nice to recommend a novel that is written elegantly and reads almost like two books in one. “Great Circle”, by Maggie Shipstead, incorporates two different plots taking place in two different eras that slowly meld toward one another finding common ground. Though I should really say “common air” as the protagonist is strong-willed Marian Graves whose only true passion in life is aviation (at a time when there were few female pilots). The second leading lady is a current Hollywood actress whose professional and emotional ups and downs are an interesting complement to the primary story. A shout out to Cousin Ellen for recommending this excellent read!
