Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Place on Earth

This book by Noa Tishby gets 5 stars from me! She takes the reader through the history, the treaties, the wars, and the seemingly endless points and counterpoints in a straightforward but non-textbook-like way. She adds humor, personal stories and even swear words along with the facts to support her thesis. Not only a terrific author, Tishby is a famous Israeli actress and highly successful television producer having brought the Israeli series “In Treatment” (which stars Anthony Ramos in some episodes - mentioned in Listening this week) to HBO. No matter how many books you’ve read about Israel and the Middle East conflicts, I urge you to read this.
