Nancy’s French Dressing

I call it Nancy’s - my mother-in-law’s - dressing because she taught me the recipe way back in the late 80’s when I met Mitch.  She actually got the recipe from her friend Leah who got it from her grandfather.  You get the idea.  The best recipes are handed down and become “family recipes” that live on for generations.  I can’t tell you the number of people with whom I’ve shared this recipe and now it’s time to add it to Bookmark This - the vintage edition.  It’s actually a classic French vinaigrette but I feel the secret is adding FRESH herbs to it.  That’s what Nancy taught me in 1989 as we cut fresh basil and parsley from her herb garden in NH.  For a big salad, simply double or triple the recipe.
