“Oh, William!”

I loved this book! Written by Elizabeth Strout, author of “Olive Kitteridge”, it is a quick read but oh so endearing. The focus is on Lucy and William, once married to each other, then married to others, but still exceptionally close. From the get-go, Strout’s descriptions, dialogues and purity of prose allow the reader to understand the characters - warts and all. Now that I’ve read two of Strout’s books, I admire her ability to bring out the sweetness and the complexity of the human condition so organically.
