“Pamela - A Love Story”

I honestly felt a bit embarrassed to watch this movie last night.  Like so many, I assumed Pam Anderson was neither complex nor bright - just gorgeous to look at. Well I was wrong and I urge you to watch HER version of her story (especially if you watched “Pam and Tommy” on Hulu).  She grew up on a small island town near Vancouver where her family was poor and unstable, and where she was sexually abused. She started journaling from an early age and has literally kept every notebook containing her hopes, fears and observations. Fast-forward to the Playboy mansion, “Baywatch”, Tommy Lee, having children and much more and you will learn how Pamela gained confidence but also lost a part of herself at the hands of others.  It is a complex, riveting story narrated by Pam and highlighted by a lot of videos (yes, some are R rated).  Toward the end, you see the adoring relationship she has with her grown sons and how they and her parents provide strong support for her. BTW, Rotten Tomatoes gave this film a 98%!
