Young Film Makers “West Michigan”

Sam Negen is only 20 years old and a student of film and photography at Montana State University, but he is also the Director of Photography for the newly released film “West Michigan” (available on Amazon Prime and iTunes). This project was created by and stars the talented young brother-sister duo of Riley Warmoth and Chloe Ray Warmoth who show off the beauty of their home state. The film follows a few days in the life of Hannah, an angst-ridden teen-ager, and primarily focuses on her relationship with her brother as they embark upon a road trip to their grandparents’ home. Sam (my dear friend, Susan Negen’s son) captures the stunning diversity and beauty of the landscapes of Michigan (who knew?) with a keen eye and impressive technical skill. The film is lovely, and I give a standing ovation to these talented 20-somethings who have collaborated and made a cinematic mark so early in life.
